Hi I’m Jeanie Jyanti of Alchemy School of Yoga and I’m a Yoga Teacher and Practitioner based in Cork. With a fascination on how our bodies work, from the subtle to gross level, I combine my love of science and factual based research with the ancient practices of yoga and meditation to allow my students discover the joys of yoga in their own time and space.
I have worked in the corporate world of Pharmaceuticals for 7 years having completed my BSc Hons in Chemistry from UCC. However, I believed in yogic practices so much I left my full time, permanent, pensionable job (much to my Father’s horror!) to teach full time. I’m excited to help you discover these practices too.
I am passionate about taking yoga off the mat and helping others discover the many aspects of yoga and how you can integrate them into your everyday life. I love incorporating yoga with my other passions of food and music. My desire is to preserve the ancient teachings of yoga, gifted to us from Mother India and allow people all over the world to experience the immense benefits yoga can have on your life.
I have studied and trained under the joyous Yogrishi Vishvketu of Akhanda Yoga in Rishikesh, India to gain my RYT500 and with the sublime Sally Parkes Yoga to gain my RPYT85 Pregnancy, Post-natal and Mother and Baby Yoga qualification.
I teach Akhanda Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Pregnancy Yoga and Mother and Baby Yoga. I teach yoga to suit all levels and abilities so the majority of my classes are for every level. I adore that yoga really can be practised by everyone in one space and I am truly passionate about creating an environment to allow people of all abilities to feel comfortable, challenged and supported.
Hosting Retreats in Ireland, Spain and the UK from day long to week long these incorporate food workshops, kirtans (sacred singing circles), kryia experiences, yoga asana, pranayama, meditation and a lot more!
I love curating Yoga Events and currently run: Food and Yoga Walking Tours of Cork City, ‘The Yoga of Food’ Evenings allowing students to discover a yogic approach to food…while enjoying yummy nibbles Kirtans – sacred chanting and mantra circles Self Practice workshops allowing people to learn how to have an at home self practice.
As of January 2019 I will be based at my studio 22, Westside Centre, Model Farm Road, Cork, Ireland
